The Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria (MARAN) is set to unveil a long-awaited publication titled 50 Drivers of Nigeria’s Marine and Blue Economy on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Providence Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.
The book which was described by MARAN as a “comprehensive compendium of excellence” profiles 50 individuals, institutions and organisations whose leadership, innovations and sustained contributions have shaped and advanced Nigeria’s maritime and blue-economy sectors.
According to MARAN President, Godfrey Bivbere, the volume is the result of several months of meticulous research and aims not only to honour maritime trail-blazers but also to serve as a reference work for policymakers, investors, researchers and students seeking insight into the sector’s evolution and future opportunities.
The launch event will be chaired by former Minister of Interior and Integrated Oil & Gas, Emmanuel Iheanacho, with the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, as Special Guest of Honour highlighting the strategic significance of the publication given Nigeria’s renewed focus on maritime growth and coastal-economy development.
MARAN says the gathering will bring together regulators, shipowners, freight-forwarders, terminal operators, academics and other maritime stakeholders making it one of the most important industry events of the year.
