NIMASA Reshuffles Management Team To Enhance Operational Efficiency

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced a major management reshuffle as part of efforts to enhance efficiency, improve service delivery, and strengthen synergy across its operations.
The reorganisation, which affects 56 senior officers, was approved by the Director-General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola. He said the move is aimed at repositioning the agency for better performance and alignment with its core mandate of promoting safety, security, and sustainability in Nigeria’s maritime sector.
Under the new structure, Hajia Moji Jimoh was appointed Director, Administration and Human Resources; Aishatu Jidda now heads the Planning, Research and Data Management Services Department; while Barr. Heaky Dimowo assumes the role of Director, Legal Services/Board Secretary.
Other key appointments include Isichei Osamgbi as Director, SERVICOM; Mrs. Olubusola Obasanjo-Akande as Director, Western Zone; Engr. Christopher Amakulo as Director, Special Duties; and Ms. Gloria Anyasodo as Director, Cabotage Services.
Also appointed are Salihu Abdullahi Yelwa, Director of Shipping Development; Mrs. Nneka Obianyor, Director of Reforms Coordination and Blue Economy; Umar Ibrahim Sidi, Director of Maritime Labour Services; Dr. Oma Ofodile, Director of Marine Environment Management; and Mr. Buba Umar, Director, Abuja Zonal Office. Ahmed Shittien was named Special Adviser, Technical, to the Director-General.
Mobereola noted that the restructuring reflects NIMASA’s commitment to reforming internal processes, encouraging inter-departmental collaboration, and building a more responsive management team capable of delivering on the agency’s strategic goals.
