PCHS Outsources Stevedoring Operations to Micura Services in Strategic Restructuring

Lagos, Nigeria.

Ports & Cargo Handling Services Limited (PCHS), a SIFAX Group subsidiary operating at Tin Can Island Port, has formally appointed Micura Services Limited as its stevedoring partner. The contract, effective August 1, 2025, marks a strategic shift to optimize terminal efficiency and service delivery.

PCHS Managing Director John Jenkins stated the move aligns with the company’s focus on core terminal operations. “This partnership allows us to leverage Micura’s specialized expertise while elevating service standards for shipping lines, consignees, and agents,” Jenkins emphasized, noting the collaboration resulted from months of operational restructuring.

Micura Services CEO Dr. Michael Ubogu affirmed their readiness: “We’re honored to deploy our trained professionals to deliver world-class stevedoring solutions for PCHS. This milestone reflects our commitment to exceeding industry benchmarks.”

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) endorsed the transparent transition process. Vice President General Comrade Ibrahim Ohize Tajudeen confirmed: “PCHS engaged labor comprehensively throughout, fostering confidence in the new model.”

Micura brings 15+ years of cargo handling experience and holds NIMASA’s 2018 “Best Stevedoring Company” accreditation, recognized for safety protocols and operational consistency.
