In a unique celebration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, the Pi-CNG initiative yesterday showcased its mission to power the nation’s future with a symbolic clean energy vehicle convoy, underscoring the theme of “Driving Independence Through Clean Energy.”

The event, which also marked the two-year anniversary of the Pi-CNG project, featured a convoy departing from the Pi-CNG Headquarters at 9:00 AM. The route traversed key landmarks across the capital city, including Berger, Area 1, the Federal Secretariat, Wuse, and culminating at the Eagle Square, the heart of the national celebration.

The initiative aims to reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported fuel and lower vehicular emissions by promoting the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The rally served as a public demonstration of the viability and benefits of this alternative, cleaner energy source for transportation.

Beneath the celebratory banner of “Happy 65th Independence Day,” the event carried a potent message of national self-sufficiency. The convoy’s movement through the city, powered by domestic natural gas, physically embodied the initiative’s slogan: “Na We Dey Power Am” (We are the ones powering it).

This public display comes at a critical time for Nigeria’s energy sector, highlighting a sustainable pathway forward amidst recurring challenges with traditional petroleum-based fuels. The Pi-CNG anniversary event successfully fused national pride with a forward-looking vision for a cleaner, more self-reliant energy future.
