A chartered professional engineer based in Australia, Engr. Olaoluwa Dawodu, has commended the approval of the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport for commercial operations, describing it as a major step toward boosting agricultural exports and industrial development in the state.

Dawodu stated that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s (NCAA) approval, which converts the airport from non-scheduled to scheduled commercial status, would open new economic opportunities for the state.

According to him, the facility will facilitate the movement of agricultural produce to both local and international markets, attract investors, and create jobs for residents.

He emphasized that reliable air transport infrastructure is crucial for states like Ekiti to connect with global markets, noting that such facilities have proven to drive regional development in advanced economies like Australia.

Dawodu also praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration for prioritizing infrastructural growth, urging Ekiti indigenes to support the initiative to ensure its sustainability and full economic potential.
