Ethiopian Airlines has emerged as the largest international carrier operating in Nigeria following the expansion of its weekly flights to 34 across four major cities , Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, and Kano.

The airline currently operates 14 flights weekly from Lagos, 10 from Abuja, 7 from Kano, and 3 from Enugu, solidifying its dominance in Nigeria’s international aviation market.

During the launch of additional Abuja services, the airline’s Country Area Manager, Mrs. Firiehiwot Mekonnen, described the move as a reflection of Ethiopian Airlines’ deepening commitment to Nigeria’s aviation industry. She noted that the increased flight frequency would enhance passenger convenience, trade, and tourism between both nations.

According to Mekonnen, the expansion aligns with the airline’s long-standing partnership with Nigeria, which dates back several decades, adding that Ethiopian Airlines remains focused on providing safe, reliable, and world-class service to Nigerian travelers.

She said the additional frequencies would also strengthen connections to over 150 global destinations through the airline’s Addis Ababa hub, supported by a modern fleet of Airbus A350-1000s and Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
