The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has entered into a partnership with Zuid Energies Limited, a new-energy mobility and infrastructure company, to introduce electric taxi services at major Nigerian airports, marking a step towards sustainable and modern ground transportation for air travellers.

Under the collaboration, electric taxi operations will begin with a pilot phase at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport, with plans to expand to other FAAN-managed airports nationwide, FAAN and Zuid Energies officials said.

Zuid Energies CEO Ogochukwu Abiakam explained that the initiative goes beyond simply offering electric vehicles; it aims to build a full electric mobility ecosystem that includes dedicated EV charging infrastructure, digital booking and tracking systems, and cashless payment platforms that improve efficiency and service quality for passengers.
