Nigerian aviation services company Flybird has received official certification from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to operate Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), marking a significant expansion of its service capabilities within the African aviation market.

The newly acquired license enables Flybird to deploy drone technology across a range of sectors including oil and gas, agriculture, energy, infrastructure inspection, aerial mapping, environmental monitoring, and security operations.

Dr. Tracy Wilson, General Manager of Flybird, stated that the certification reflects the company’s commitment to safety, innovation, and strict regulatory compliance. “This milestone underscores our dedication to integrating advanced technologies that meet both national and international standards,” she said.

Captain Ahmed Borodo, Chief Executive Officer of Flybird, described the authorization as both an opportunity and a responsibility. “This license places Flybird at the forefront of unmanned aviation solutions in Africa. We remain dedicated to upholding the highest levels of safety and operational excellence while serving clients across Nigeria and the continent.”

The company affirmed that this achievement aligns with its broader vision to redefine business aviation and integrated air solutions through precision, innovation, and adherence to global best practices.
