Lagos Launches Commuter Survey to Improve Transport Planning

The Lagos State Government has unveiled a commuter survey designed to gather data on the travel experiences of residents using road, rail, and water transport, as part of efforts to enhance transportation planning and service delivery in the state.

According to a statement from the government, the initiative aims to collect information on commuters’ daily travel patterns, challenges, and expectations. The findings will guide future policies, infrastructure investments, and improvements across the state’s transport system.

Officials explained that the survey, which is part of the state’s data-driven transport management strategy, will help Lagos optimize its multimodal transport network and reduce congestion across major routes.

Residents and regular commuters were urged to participate in the exercise by providing accurate responses to ensure effective planning and resource allocation.

The state government reiterated its commitment to building a more efficient, reliable, and inclusive transportation system that meets the needs of the growing population of Lagos.
