The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has received certification from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for its Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulator, marking a key milestone in aviation training and safety.
The certificate was presented to NAMA’s Managing Director, Farouk Ahmed Umar, by the NCAA’s Director of Air Traffic Control, John Tayo, at a brief ceremony in Abuja.
Tayo commended the contributions of the local management team at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), as well as the Department of Technical Evaluation and Manpower Development under the Directorate of Air Traffic Control, for their role in ensuring the simulator met regulatory standards.
In his remarks, Umar described the certification as a significant achievement for the agency and the aviation sector, noting that the simulator would enhance manpower development, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen airspace safety across the country.
The NCAA certification is expected to boost Nigeria’s compliance with global best practices in air traffic management while positioning NAMA to train more
professionals locally.
