Nigeria Suspends ValueJet Pilots Over Unauthorized Take-Off in Abuja

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has directed Air Tanzania to provide hotel accommodation, meals, and refunds to passengers stranded in both Dar es Salaam and Lagos, following a technical fault that disrupted scheduled flights.

Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, said the disrupted travelers are entitled to these amenities under Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023.

Achimugu also urged the airline to rebook affected passengers on other carriers or issue refunds if it cannot operate over the weekend, adding that the NCAA will continue to monitor the situation closely.

According to NCAA, stranded passengers were accommodated in hotels and provided with meals.
