The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has partnered with The Safe & Balanced One Initiative (TSBOI) and artificial intelligence (AI) technology experts to launch an enhanced road-safety campaign aimed at achieving zero road traffic fatalities during the 2025 Ember Months period.

The alliance was unveiled as part of preparations for the traditional Ember Months that historically records a spike in road crashes due to increased movement and festive travel. FRSC officials said the partnership will leverage data-driven insights and predictive AI models to identify high-risk routes, monitor driving behaviour, and optimise enforcement deployment.

According to the Corps Marshal, the initiative will incorporate real-time analytics from traffic cameras, mobile apps and sensor data to forecast crash hotspots and alert patrol teams proactively. The strategy is designed to complement existing public-education efforts on distracted driving, fatigue, speed compliance and vehicle roadworthiness.

TSBOI representatives emphasised community engagement and grassroots education as key components, stating that behaviour change communication reinforced by AI-supported risk monitoring can dramatically reduce crash incidence. They also said the collaboration would promote safe driving culture through targeted messaging at motor parks, churches, mosques and major travel hubs.
