President Tinubu Congratulates FAAN MD Olubunmi Kuku on Election as ACI Africa Vice-President

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), on her election as Vice-President of Airports Council International (ACI) Africa.

The appointment was confirmed during the 34th ACI Africa General Assembly, held from September 13–15, 2025, in Lusaka, Zambia.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu commended Mrs. Kuku and the entire FAAN team for their dedication to elevating safety and efficiency in Nigeria’s aviation sector, which has drawn international recognition.

“The President notes the sustained efforts and commitment of the FAAN management to making air transport in Nigeria safe, efficient, and reflective of the highest standards, which has attracted global recognition and commendations,” the statement read.

Tinubu also highlighted Mrs. Kuku’s previous role as Regional Advisor for Africa and her membership on the ACI World Governing Board, acknowledging her leadership and strategic vision.

ACI, established in 1991, is the leading global representative of airports, with more than 2,000 members across 170 countries. The organization sets standards and promotes best practices in airport management and operations worldwide.

This appointment is seen as a significant affirmation of Nigeria’s growing influence in international aviation governance.
