The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has launched its new Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) in Abuja, a major digital overhaul aimed at improving internal efficiency, transparency and service delivery within the maritime and blue economy regulatory framework.
The unveiling was performed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, alongside the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr. Adegboyega Oyetola, at an event attended by senior government officials and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack.
The ECMS described by NSC Executive Secretary Dr. Pius Akutah as a transformative digital tool is designed to eliminate delays, reduce paperwork, and automate workflow processes that have long hampered administrative operations. By replacing manual, paper-based systems with secure, automated workflows, audit trails and centralised document repositories, the platform is expected to enhance accountability and internal coordination across departments.
Akume said the rollout signals Nigeria’s entry into a new phase of digital governance, aligning with the Federal Government’s drive to modernise public administration and reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies nationwide. He urged other ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to adopt similar systems to strengthen internal processes and support better service delivery.
