President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated a 600-metre underpass and a 3.7-kilometre dualised township road network in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, describing the projects as key infrastructure that will ease traffic congestion and stimulate economic activities in the area.
The President, who was represented by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for transforming Akwanga through strategic infrastructure development. He noted that the road project aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda on infrastructure renewal.
According to Tinubu, the completed projects will significantly reduce travel time through Akwanga, a major transit town that previously experienced severe traffic congestion, especially during festive periods.
Governor Sule expressed appreciation to the President for inaugurating the projects, stating that the underpass and township roads were executed as part of the state’s urban renewal programme to modernise Akwanga and improve the movement of people and goods.
