Governor Seyi Makinde approved the reconstruction of the 23-kilometer Okaka–Igbojaye–KAP Film Village Road in Itesiwaju Local Government Area to enhance rural connectivity, boost tourism, and drive economic growth.
Announced during the Hijrah 1447 luncheon at the Presidential Lodge in Ibadan, the project fulfills a promise made in April 2025 at the commissioning of the KAP Film Village, established by filmmaker Kunle Afolayan in Komu. Makinde emphasized completing impactful infrastructure before his tenure ends, stating, “From September, we will focus on finishing existing projects to ensure sustainability. This road will improve rural access, promote tourism, and support the cultural economy.”
The governor called for continued public support through feedback and prayers, crediting such engagement for Oyo State’s peace and progress. Deputy Governor Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal and community leaders praised Makinde’s inclusive leadership.
The project is expected to link rural areas with urban markets, integrating the KAP Film Village into Oyo State’s tourism circuit.
