Abuja-native Mohammed Aminu Sani has made aviation history by becoming Nigeria’s youngest commercial pilot at the age of 18. Sani earned a U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot License after completing an intensive training program at Phoenix East Aviation in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Remarkably, Sani finished the rigorous course in just ten months, passing every stage of training without a single checkride failure; an achievement that underscores his discipline and skill. Reflecting on his journey, Sani shared, “Becoming a pilot has always been my childhood dream. Today, I’m proud to say I’m living that dream. I hope my story inspires others to chase their goals with determination.”

Sani’s foundational education began in Abuja, where he graduated with distinction in Economics Foundation from The Regent College. His academic excellence paved the way for flight training in the United States, where he accumulated significant experience, including over 50 hours on multi-engine aircraft and 30 hours of cross-country flight time.

His accomplishment not only represents a personal milestone but also serves as inspiration for Nigerian youth, demonstrating that with focus and resilience, global excellence is achievable at any age. Sani now aims to join a leading airline and continue representing Nigeria on the international aviation stage.
