Dr. Umar Ganduje, Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has called for tighter coordination, professionalism, and integrity among security agencies at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.

Speaking after a recent inspection tour, Ganduje singled out the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the Department of State Services (DSS), the military, civil defence, immigration, and the police, urging them to adopt “high standards” and zero tolerance for corruption.

Ganduje also expressed concern over several stalled infrastructure projects at MMIA, calling for urgent budgetary action to address safety, security, and operational deficiencies.

He praised ongoing investments in Lagos, Abuja, and Kano airports, including the deployment of new scanners, e-gates and other passenger-facilitation infrastructure.

The FAAN board chairman stressed that improving airport security and operations is not just about internal efficiency , it also reflects on Nigeria’s global image.
