The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has achieved multiple ISO certifications, marking a significant enhancement in operational efficiency, safety management and environmental performance across Nigeria’s airport system.
FAAN Managing Director Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku described the certifications as “a crucial milestone” that aligns Nigeria’s airport infrastructure with global best practices. She said the recognition affirms FAAN’s drive to modernise service delivery, enhance passenger experiences, and promote environmentally responsible operations.
The authority noted that certification was achieved after thorough assessments by accredited international auditors, covering systems and processes at major airports including Murtala Muhammed International Airport (Lagos) and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
FAAN said the ISO standards will deepen institutional emphasis on continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and compliance with international performance benchmarks paving the way for stronger competitiveness, stakeholder confidence and sustainable growth in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
