Nigeria Suspends ValueJet Pilots Over Unauthorized Take-Off in Abuja

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has launched an investigation into an incident involving passengers on an Air France flight that went viral on social media, the regulator said on Friday.

The video, widely shared online, appears to show a scuffle between passengers aboard the aircraft shortly before departure. While details remain unclear, the NCAA said it has contacted the airline and relevant airport authorities to gather verified information and statements from involved parties.

In a statement, NCAA reiterated that passenger safety and orderly conduct are paramount under international and domestic aviation regulations. The authority said it will assess whether all safety protocols, crew interventions and airline procedures were properly followed before, during and after the incident.

The regulator added that its probe will consider testimony from the airline, airport security personnel and any available footage to determine whether there were breaches of conduct that warrant sanctions or corrective actions.
