LASPA Clamps 14 Vehicles, Restores Traffic on Maryland’s Emmanuel Street

The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has cleared traffic congestion along Emmanuel Street, Maryland, following an enforcement operation against indiscriminate parking triggered by a large event at the Leola Hotel.

LASPA General Manager, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, stated that a high turnout for the event led to severe overflow parking, with several guests double-parking along the road and adjacent junction, effectively bringing traffic to a halt.

To restore free flow, LASPA’s enforcement team clamped 14 vehicles found in violation of the state’s parking regulations. Beyond the clampdown, officers took the opportunity to sensitise hotel staff, motorists, and event attendees on responsible parking practices.

Management of Leola Hotel was subsequently penalised for the infraction. All clamped vehicles were released in accordance with established LASPA protocols.

Adelabu cautioned event venue managers and hospitality business owners to make adequate parking provisions for their guests. She warned that failure to comply with state parking regulations will result in immediate enforcement action and sanctions to prevent further traffic disruptions.
