The Lagos State Parking Authority has launched a fresh wave of enforcement along the Akintoye Road corridor near Ajeromi General Hospital in Apapa, towing vehicles parked in designated no-parking zones and warning residents against tampering with road infrastructure.

General Manager Adebisi Adelabu said the operation followed weeks of public awareness campaigns and the installation of clear road signs, yet illegal parking continued to choke traffic and obstruct access. “The Monitoring and Enforcement Team moved in after it became obvious that enlightenment alone was not enough,” she said. “Vehicles found flouting the rules were towed where necessary.”

Adelabu stressed that the exercise was conducted peacefully and in line with standard procedures, with no disruption to public order. However, she noted that one of the newly installed ‘No Parking’ signs along the corridor had already been removed, and issued a stern warning against theft or vandalism of public infrastructure. Offenders, she said, will be prosecuted.

The authority urged motorists to stick to designated parking facilities, obey traffic signage and cooperate with enforcement officers to keep Lagos roads clear and accessible.
